Steve Lacke joined MMIC as vice president and chief actuary in 2009 and assumed the role of chief financial officer in 2013 in addition to his duties as senior vice president of insurance operations. Steve is responsible for the company's underwriting, finance, actuarial and IT functions.
The positive trajectory of the company has me very excited about its future. MMIC truly wants to improve the health care industry, and that vision is easy to get behind.
Steve was previously with American Family Mutual Insurance Company, Travelers Insurance Company, Christopher Gross Consulting, Inc. and RSM McGladrey. He is experienced in ratemaking, reserving, reinsurance and strategic planning from the perspective of both a company and consulting actuary.
Steve is a fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society, a member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA), and a three-year participant on the Dynamic Risk Modeling Committee of the CAS. He earned an MBA with an emphasis in finance at the University of Minnesota and his bachelor’s degree at the University of Wisconsin, Whitewater.
